8 Day Punjab Retreat: A Unique Community Experience

During your stay, you will be hosted by our partner charity YFC, an award winning organisation that leverages sports development, education, and community initiatives to create positive opportunities for young people and future generations and beyond! 


Guests will immerse themselves in an authentic community experience in Punjab, exploring local historical and spiritual sites, participating in workshops, and spending quality time with the dedicated team members working within the charity and college community.

Punjab like no one else...

Transport will be provided using comfortable air-conditioned coaches or vehicles for excursions, allowing guests to enjoy a community experience in Punjab. They will explore local villages, historical locations, and important heritage sites, including visits around Jalandhar and Ludhiana this unique trip is thoughtfully designed by Indians.


Day 1–2: Village Immersion


During the first two days, guests will primarily stay in Jalandhar, Punjab, hosted by FYC, the charity we are supporting. Here, they will:


- Settle into the environment

- Meet the India team

- Receive a full tour of the facilities

- Learn about the charity’s mission and impact

- Participate in workshops

- Experience village community life, enhanced by organic meals at the retreat

- Enjoy yoga and meditation sessions, alongside wellbeing activities and relaxation time.

Gurdwara visits

Day 1–4: Punjab


1. Gurdwara Panjvi Patshahi – Bilga

History: Blessed by Guru Arjan Dev Ji, this gurdwara holds a remarkable collection of Sikh artifacts, including manuscripts, coins, pottery, and preserved historical items from the Guru period. It is a peaceful village sanctuary that offers grounding, stillness, and a deep connection to heritage.


2. Gurdwara Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji – Mau Sahib

History: Mau Sahib is closely linked to Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the Fifth Guru. Known for its serene rural setting, it reflects devotion, humility, and spiritual resilience. Sangat often visits for quiet reflection and heartfelt ardas.


3. Gurdwara Talhan Sahib

History: Talhan Sahib is known for seva, community strength, and collective faith. The gurdwara complex is large and vibrant, symbolising unity and the spirit of service. It is a powerful reminder of the Sikh tradition of supporting one another.


4. Gurdwara Manji Sahib – Alamgir

History: Guru Gobind Singh Ji stayed here during his travels. Alamgir represents fearlessness and service, marking the moment when the Guru inspired bravery, compassion, and unwavering commitment to humanity. A key spiritual landmark near Ludhiana.


Day 5: Anandpur Sahib (1 Night Stay)

5. Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib – Anandpur Sahib

History: The birthplace of the Khalsa, founded by Guru Gobind Singh Ji in 1699. This sacred Takht is central to Sikh identity, sovereignty, and spiritual awakening. Evening kirtan and sunrise darshan offer a deeply moving experience. Stay: 1 night in Anandpur Sahib.


Day 6–7: Amritsar (2 Nights)

6. Gurdwara Sri Harmandir Sahib (Golden Temple)

History: Linked to Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the Fifth Guru, Harmandir Sahib is a global symbol of equality, compassion, and divine presence. The sarovar, langar, and continuous kirtan create a powerful atmosphere of peace and devotion. Stay: 2 nights in Amritsar for night darshan, morning Asa Di Vaar, Akal Takht visit, and optional Wagah Border.

Week One: Soul Workshops & Daily Practices

A gentle blend of spiritual routine, village stillness, and evening growth sessions.


Morning Practice: Jaap Sahib (Optional)

Begin your day with the powerful rhythm of Jaap Sahib, a practice that strengthens courage, clarity, and inner grounding. Guests may join the morning recitation in the village gurdwara or choose a quiet personal reflection instead. This is a soft, optional start offered daily.


Evening Practice: Gong Bath (Optional)

As the sun sets, guests can unwind with a healing gong bath, designed to release emotional tension, calm the nervous system, and support deep rest. This session is available most evenings and can be joined freely.

 

Evening Workshops (Choose Any 3 During the Week)

Guests select the workshops that resonate most with their personal journey. Each workshop is trauma‑informed, strengths based, and rooted in cultural wisdom.


1. Emotional Intelligence & Self‑Awareness

A gentle exploration of emotional patterns, triggers, and strengths. Learn practical tools to understand your inner world and respond with clarity rather than overwhelm.


2. Ancestral Healing & Cultural Identity

Reconnect with heritage, lineage, and the stories that shaped you. This workshop blends Punjabi cultural wisdom with reflective practices to support grounding and belonging.


3. Mind–Body Reset & Nervous System Regulation

Learn simple, effective techniques to calm the body, reduce stress, and build emotional resilience. Ideal for guests seeking balance and inner stability.


4. Values, Purpose & Life Direction

A reflective session to help you identify your core values, clarify your direction, and reconnect with what truly matters. Perfect for guests navigating transitions or seeking alignment.


5. Community Sharing Circle

A safe, guided space to share experiences, insights, and personal reflections. This circle builds connection, trust, and collective healing within the group.


 How Week One Flows

Guests enjoy a flexible rhythm:

  • Morning: Optional Jaap Sahib
  • Daytime: Village immersion, organic meals, rest, nature, seva
  • Evening: Optional gong bath
  • Night: Choose one of the workshops (3 evenings total)

This structure allows guests to personalise their retreat — choosing depth, rest, or exploration as needed.
